Brisbane Boat Show

The Brisbane Boat Show is a four day event usually in August. It has proven to be very successful with 50 years in promoting the Queenslanders’ marine lifestyle. Every year, it is held at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre in Southbank, which is located near serviced apartments in Brisbane. Even if you’re not a boating fan, you’ll still be amazed at the spectacular watercraft on display. The show features almost 100 exhibitors, Kids Marine Zone, cooking stage, fishing and boating stage and seafood cafe. It’s bound to have something in store for everyone.

Music Festivals

Music festivals always provide a buzzing and partying atmosphere for all music lovers and gives permission to dance around and rock out crazily. Australia has some of the best music festivals that can rival the best in the world.

• Big Day Out – the essence of Aussie music festivals. It never fails to feature new and established Aussie and international bands and artists on its lineup. Often showcasing the best in rock and alternative music, urban and dance/pop acts also play at the festival. The Aussie festivals are held at the Gold Coast, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth in January/February.
• Splendour in the Grass – the premier Aussie winter music festival and often attracts music lovers from interstate because it only features one show at Woodford, Queensland. Tropfest

Tropfest is the world’s largest short film festival held in the Domain in Sydney every February. Each year, the short films of the filmmaker finalists are screened. Each short film also features the same required signature item. The event attracts over 100 000 viewers and hundreds of filmmaker entrants. It is also broadcast via satellite in Melbourne, Canberra, Brisbane, Adelaide, Hobart and Perth.

Brisbane Festival

The Brisbane Festival is the city’s premier arts and cultural event and is held throughout September. The festival includes theatre, dance and music events at various venues in Brisbane.
